Six friends will embark on a river adventure through Redding, complete with a personal guide and a delicious riverside lunch. Your party will launch a raft into the waters of the Sacramento River at the Rodeo Grounds above the Sundial Bridge. Terry Hanson – river rafting guide, trails and open spaces advocate – will join your group to guide, entertain, and educate as you float your way to the John Reginato River Access at South Bonnyview. You’ll settle into a relaxing drift that will include floating by eagles’ nests to try to catch sight of them through a spotting scope, breezing through side channels to view the man-made fish habitat enhancements, and a short hike through NurPon Open Space to stretch your legs, have lunch and see the new recreation amenities! A shuttle will bring you back to your vehicles at the Rodeo Grounds. This excursion is best booked in mid-to-late May or June and will take place from approximately 9am – 1pm. Date to be negotiated. Children must be at least 8 years old.
