Redding East Rotary is proud to announce the winners of the 2023 Sundial Riffle Raffle, formerly the Ducky Derby. The event has raised over $5 million for substance abuse prevention and youth development programs since the initial event in 1990. .
Total salmon adoptions processed for 2023 sales were 28,530, netting about $142,650 to be distributed to the groups in January 2024.
This is a unique partnership between the adults and the youth of our community. Redding East Rotary provides the infrastructure and the kids sell the tickets, typically receiving 100% of their ticket sales returned to them to be used for their own programs.
Kati Maier, Farmers Insurance business owner and co-chair of the event, fondly remembers selling tickets when she was a kid, so this is truly a legacy event!
The event included the Festival at the Sundial Riffle Raffle from 11-3 at the base of the Sundial Bridge. Many people braved the early morning rain to come down and enjoy the event, including music from local student bands and terrific food and craft booths.
